Off To Austin, Texas With My Love

The last time I was on a plane with Sasha, we were on our way back from studying abroad in China, and we both thought that we wouldn't see much of each other again.

Between then and now, I realized that I like pushing buttons on a camera and that my life would totally suck without her. So, today, I'm flying to Texas to shoot a wedding with the love of my life.

Julie and Adam's Engagement Session

"What I love about Julie is her spirit - always positive and happy. We weren't even dating at the time, and we had a really long day and a friend of mine jokingly asked if we should take the sailboat to Fire Island. I turned to Julie, and she said 'yes'. I knew there was something special about her that night, and we've been having little adventures ever since then."

We had the pleasure of enjoying sailboats, piers, champagne toasting, margaritas, and a TON of laughs with this beautiful and super fun couple.

Fright Fest 2014

I'm lucky enough to get to the opportunity to capture bright, happy scenes of joy and laughter. I get to shoot excited grooms and emotional brides and beautiful people. Last night, I went to Six Flags Great Adventure for their annual Fright Fest, so I took an opportunity to make some photographs of ghouls and goblins and such. It was a great time, and I loved the unique costumes and different setups they had. I got genuinely startled a few times!

Henry, The Pigeon

I've never felt emotionally connected to a pigeon until last night. Henry was perched on this ledge right out my window. He is a beautiful, white pigeon, and looks more like a dove than a typical NYC pigeon. He stayed on this ledge for 5-6 hours with his eyes wide open and barely moved a muscle.

My bro tapped on the window. He wouldn't budge. After a few more attempts, he moved a little, and tried to flap its wings, but the injured Henry simply could not. My bro put out food for him, but he wouldn't eat. He just tucked his head into his hurting body for warmth.

After a long night, he finally flew away at 3:00 AM, but he was still clearly injured. Wherever you are, I'm rooting for you, Henry! I hope you're safe, and I hope you make it back to my window one day!
